The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is driving economic growth across Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, through investment in innovation, higher level skills, housing and business sites.

It is led by the private sector, working in partnership with business, education and the three local authorities, to deliver thousands of homes and jobs across one of the most enterprising regions in the UK.

Together, we are developing a vibrant regional economy, putting business at the heart of our work and removing the barriers to growth through investment in our key projects

Telford and Wrekin Council is the local authority of Telford and Wrekin in Shropshire, England. It is a unitary authority, having the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined.

The district of Telford and Wrekin was granted borough status in 2002, though the council does not ordinarily include “Borough” in its name.

The Marches Growth Hub offers a single point of access to information and guidance on business grants, loans, support and advice available to enterprises across the region, regardless of sector or size of development.

Developed by The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (MLEP), the virtual hub is a business-friendly website, where start-ups, SMEs and large employers can search for products and services and be signposted to advice and support.

The department brings together responsibilities for business, industrial strategy, science, innovation, energy, and climate change. BEIS is a ministerial department, supported by 46 agencies and public bodies.

MSPN is a not for profit company owned by its independent provider, college and HEI members. The network is governed by a board of provider members. The network vision is to “Help The Marches Work” by encouraging and supporting providers to operate in a culture of collaborative working that facilitates achievement of learners whilst supporting employers in achieving their economic goals.

The network mission is to “Provide effective strategic and operational support to members, enabling national priorities to be delivered locally for the benefit of the wider community”.

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) helps create successful communities by making more homes and business premises available to the residents and businesses who need them. We also regulate social housing providers in England.

Telford is at the heart of the UK, and at the heart of best practice and innovation. We’re rightly recognised as a centre of excellence, and at the Telford Business Board we’re working hard to keep it that way and to benefit all businesses in our community.

Our board is comprised of business leaders and sector champions, and covers all the key industries which make up our vibrant community, including: defence, education, public sector, commerce, manufacturing, engineering, housing, construction, care, emerging technology, communications, and retail. The local council and the local police also have active representation.

We meet six times per year to discuss the issues that matter most to businesses in the Telford and Wrekin area, and we actively support initiatives which help us all do business better. We’re a proud and strong voice for the business community, acting as a bridge between private and public sector and driving innovation.
